Public build log

What we’ve shipped

A plain, dated record of what actually works today — and what we’ve fixed. We’d rather show the lab notebook than the marketing. If it’s not on this list, we haven’t built it yet.

  1. Jul 2026Shipped

    EWC code lookup

All 839 European Waste Catalogue codes, searchable by code or keyword, with hazardous wastes flagged and every entry sourced to Defra. Works offline once loaded, no login.

  2. Jul 2026Shipped

Carrier register search + nightly memory

Search England’s public register of registered waste carriers, brokers and dealers (companies only). We snapshot the register every night at 02:30 and keep a first-seen / last-seen history the Environment Agency’s own live register doesn’t retain — so a carrier that lapses or vanishes still leaves a trace.

  3. Jul 2026Shipped

    Postcode & registration-number search

Look a carrier up by full or partial postcode, by company name, or by registration number (with or without the CBDU/CBDL prefix). Postcode search matches the postcode as a unit, not loose fragments.

  4. Jul 2026Shipped

    Launch notifications

A one-line signup so you get a single email when a new WasteWatch tool goes live. No spam, no sharing of addresses.

  5. Jul 2026Hardened

    Privacy, security & correctness pass

Self-hosted fonts (no Google Fonts, no visitor-IP leak), a strict content-security policy, and a runtime regression test suite that locks in the fixes so they can’t quietly come back.

Waiting on data, not built yet: postcode waste-flow, council comparison, and movement tools — these need Defra to open the Digital Waste Tracking data to the public, which hasn’t happened. We’ll ship them here the moment it does. See the roadmap for the full picture.
